Introduction of Plus500
Plus500 is gaining popularity in many countries across the world. Especially in Europe and Australia Plus500 has become very popular and the broker is still growing. Plus500 has also been promoting itself through TV commercials and by becoming a sponsor of the Champions of the Primera Division in Spain in 2014, Atletico Madrid. Plus500
offers CFD trading (Contracts for Difference). This means that the physical product does not have to be bought or sold, instead you buy or sell the underlying value of the investment product. The broker offers CFDs only.
History of Plus500
Plus500 was founded in 2008. In that year, the company launched its PC-based online trading platform. In 2009 there was a unique situation. Plus500 was the first company in the world that gave investors the opportunity to trade shares via CFDs, without commissions. It turned out to be so successful that many other companies have tried the same.
In 2010 Plus500 came up with a web version, which made it much simpler to trade online. In 2011, Plus500 already reached a number of active traders of 1,000,000 and 2,000,000 monthly transactions. The broker expanded its portfolio enormously and was rated the best for the CFD trading app in the AppStore. Thus, Plus500 does not exist that long, which could bring many advantages. Indeed, it is a relatively new trading platform which therefore requires a new and modern outlook. The user experiences an easy to use and simple trading platform on which all major investment products can be easily found and traded.
Future of Plus500
Plus500 aims to be the world’s largest CFD trading company and it is well on its way to achieving that goal! The reason Plus500 has grown so rapidly is just because they offer so many opportunities! Traders can choose from thousands of products. There are countless shares, currencies, indices and commodities that can be traded. This wide range of products makes it very attractive to try this broker. And that is very easy, because with a demo account you can trade with virtual money as much as you want. More and more people are doing it and are experiencing the benefits of Plus500.
Plus500 UK LTD is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Plus500 CY LTD is authorized and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.
Plus500 AU LTD is regulated by Australian Securities and investments Commission.
Plus500 LTD is also listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Plus500 risk warning: “76.4% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.”
Plus500 has one of the best trading platforms out there. With the variety of software they offer (Iphone, Ipad, PC, Android, etc) they allow anybody to trade anywhere at any time. The platform is very professional yet extremely user-friendly, making it ideal for both professional and novice traders. Relatively little knowledge is required to understand the software and to know the various investment opportunities. People can trade with Plus500 via the following four methods:
• Desktop / Laptop software
Plus500 offers thousands of different investment products, which is much larger than any other broker. It is possible to invest in CFD products like shares, Forex (currency), commodities, indices and ETFs. Because of this wide range of investment products, traders have a lot of choice, which is of course very important.
New investment products are also regularly added. Recently, Plus500 added the possibility to trade options on major indices, for example. Also, when large companies like Facebook go public Plus500 immediately provides the opportunity to trade shares of those companies. This is another reason why so many traders appreciate Plus500.
Besides the large range of investment products, Plus500 also offers many investment tools. You can think of charts, indicators, stop loss, etc. When it comes to graphs, it is very easy to switch between candlesticks (which I prefer) and ordinary line graphs. Additionally, Plus500 offers the possibility to set several different time periods. These include: tick, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day, 1 week. This makes it possible to view price trends over a longer period as well as over a shorter period. The graphs of Plus500 are always up-to-date and always show real-time prices.
Indicators are of course crucial to trading as well. For day trading, it is important that there is the possibility to set multiple indicators at the same time. The figure below shows some of the indicators.
Plus500 has several advantages. For these benefits, I would like to refer you to the article 22 benefits of Plus500. The main benefits however, I will briefly discuss here. For example, it is possible to both go long and short in all investment products. It is also possible to use the demo account (trade with fictitious money) to get familiarized with the trading platform. Another advantage of Plus500 is that it offers the ability to trade with leverage. Altogether, Plus500 has a lot of advantages.
Besides the benefits, there are also some disadvantages of Plus500. The broker is an English company and support is thus only available in English (the platform itself however is available in 33 different languages). Because of regulation you must send a copy of your ID to Plus500 before they can pay. Some people may perceive this as strange or inconvenient, but because of regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority, however, this is a requirement.
There are of course lots of active investors trading with Plus500. Generally, I hear many very positive reactions from other traders. When I look at myself, I can conclude that I am very satisfied with the broker. I have never encountered weird situations regarding payments and whenever I had a question, Plus500 always replied very quickly. Because of all the different investment products and possibilities the broker offers, my experiences have been very positive. Therefore I recommend this broker to everyone!
On the internet however, people write many bad reviews about all kinds of brokers, including Plus500. Mainly, they are just disappointed because they lost money and they try to blame the brokers for their own mistakes.
A while ago I received an email from someone and he asked me if Plus500 is reliable and not a scam. I replied to him that Plus500 is a reliable company that is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and listed on the London stock exchange. There is always support available and all your questions will be answered quickly. I have been trading with Plus500 many years now and I can definitely say that Plus500 is not a scam! You can safely trade with this broker!
Deposit / withdraw
Deposits and withdrawals are well regulated at Plus500. Traders can deposit through multiple payment options. You can think of iDeal, PayPal, Credit Card, MoneyBookers and electronic transfer. Whenever you deposit money it is always immediately added to your Plus500 account. The minimum deposit is € 100, which is relatively low compared to other brokers. Withdrawals are always easy to execute (although, as said before, you have to provide some documents) and your money will be on your bank account within a couple of days. See the “Plus500 payout withdraw” page for more information on this subject.
