By acquiring other brewers and then closing them, Heineken could reduce the competition. Today, Heineken beer is being brewed in 40 breweries in 39 countries. Most Heineken beer is brewed in the brewery in Zoeterwoude. Heineken is now one of the best-known beer brands in the world.
